Toronto Maple Leafs’ Martin Marincin out four to six weeks with injury after going hard into boards

Defenceman Martin Marincin will be out of the Toronto lineup the next four to six weeks.

The long-limbed Marincin suffered a back or lower-body injury in Boston on Saturday when he went hard into the boards.

Coach Mike Babcock said the initial diagnosis was not serious, but his condition did not improve.

His absence could be the ticket for Frank Corrado to get back in the lineup after he and Babcock traded barbs in the media Thursday about Corrado’s lack of playing time.

Babcock, who has six healthy defencemen, but two back to back games in the next couple of weeks, would only say it’s an opportunity for someone.
