Trump says he will pull U.S. out of TPP on 1st day in office

U.S. president-elect Donald Trump released a video on Monday laying out actions he will take on his first day in office on Jan. 20, including withdrawing the United States from a Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal.

Calling the TPP a “potential disaster” for the U.S., he said his administration would instead “negotiate fair bilateral trade deals that bring jobs and industry back onto America shores.”

Trump also said he would issue a rule cutting government regulations, direct the Labour Department to investigate abuses of visa programs, and cancel some restrictions on energy production, including shale oil and gas and coal.

“These are just a few of the steps we will take to reform Washington and rebuild our middle class,” Trump said. “I will provide more updates in the coming days as we work together to make America great again for everyone, and I mean everyone.”
