Alberta Progressive Conservative leadership hopeful Jason Kenney is being fined by the party.
The party’s president has confirmed to CBC News Sunday night that the board of directors accepted the recommendation of Chief Returning Officer Rob Dunseith to charge Kenney $5,000 for showing up at a delegate-selection meeting in Edmonton-Ellerslie last week.
Party rules stipulate candidates running for the leadership cannot be in attendance.
The delegates selected at the delegate selection meetings vote for the next party leader.
The PCs launched an investigation following complaints about Kenney’s presence at the Mill Woods golf course club house Wednesday night.
The delegate selection meeting in Edmonton-Ellerslie is being re-ordered.
