Dog found with muzzle taped, bones broken in northern Alberta

High Prairie RCMP are investigating after a dog was found suffering broken bones and its muzzle taped closed.

Police say they were called Sunday after the dog, a collie cross, was found at the Peavine Waste Transfer Site, north of High Prairie.

Soon after officers arrived, the animal was taken to a veterinary clinic, where it was euthanized due to its injuries.

Police are looking for witnesses or information to the incident.

High Prairie is 375 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
