Members of Regina’s executive committee have given the nod to a plan to provide water service and fire protection to a planned development by the Sakimay First Nation on land west of the city.
The land sits just outside city limits near the Global Transportation Hub and along the soon to be built Regina Bypass.
The final say on the service agreement will go to a full meeting of city council, set for Aug. 29.
If approved, the agreement would see the city provide potable water and the services of the fire department to the proposed development.
According to material from city hall, the goal is to provide service to the first 16 hectares developed on lands located directly west of Pinkie Road and south of Dewdney Avenue.
