Gary and Paul O’Donovan became instant stars back home in Ireland for their silver medal in lightweight double sculls at the Rio Olympics, and on the Internet for the interview they gave afterwards.
The brothers’ appearance on RTE Sport started off with Gary O’Donovan offering a reassurance: “The background might look superimposed but it’s very real.”
Then Paul O’Donovan went on to talk about “podium pants” and offer a detailed account of the state of his bladder.
