Excitement in the pool at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics has translated to more kids signing up for swim classes, according to an Edmonton swimming school.
Paul Sadler Swimland hosted their own Olympic games this weekend, and handed out hundreds of medals to young swimmers.
Head coach Ben Arnold says the club has seen more parents calling, looking to get their kids in the pool.
And 16-year-old Penny Oleksiak capturing more individual medals than any other Canadian at an Olympic games is certainly motivating the young swimmers.
Arnold says he’s seen his swimmers give a little extra in class, in hopes of one day standing on a podium like Oleksiak.
