A 27-year-old woman died Wednesday after she was ejected from the car she was driving in a rollover crash on Anthony Henday Drive.
Edmonton police responded to a single vehicle collision just before 1 a.m. Wednesday on the Henday, just east of 91st Street.
A 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt had been travelling westbound when it lost control, entered the centre median and rolled into the eastbound lanes, police said in a news release.
Police found the driver — the vehicle’s lone occupant — on the roadway.
She was transported to hospital where she died.
Police believe the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
The death is the 17th traffic fatality in Edmonton this year.
