Premier Rachel Notley will address the party faithful this morning at the Alberta NDP convention in Calgary.
The gathering, which started Friday, is the first since the NDP defeated the Progressive Conservatives in the May 2015 election.
Since then, Notley and her government has embarked on an ambitious plan to change Alberta.
The new government introduced a progressive income tax system and passed a law ending corporate donations to political parties.
The spring session of the Alberta legislature, which wrapped up Tuesday, saw the NDP pass legislation enabling the carbon levy. The controversial tax will take effect Jan. 1, 2017.
Notley’s speech is scheduled to start at 11:30 MT. CBC will be livestreaming it here.
