Senator Murray Sinclair is being recognized for his humanitarian work with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
On Tuesday, the Canadian Psychological Association honoured Sinclair with a humanitarian award.
The award goes to Canadians who “significantly and selflessly enhanced the psychological health” for other Canadians.
Sinclair was Manitoba’s first Indigenous judge, and in 2009, he became the chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.
In 2015, the commission released its final report.
Sinclair will be honoured at the Canadian Psychological Association’s national convention in Victoria on Thursday.
