Edmonton didn’t exactly offer up lemonade weather for Beyoncé’s Formation world tour stop.
The star is known to flaunt her curves in leg-baring leotards, but on Friday she stepped onto the Commonwealth Stadium stage in a floor-length trench coat instead.
Beyoncé fans line up outside Commonwealth stadium in Edmonton where the singer performed on May 20 as part of her Formation world tour.
Even with temperatures dipping below 10 C and rain clouds looming overhead, thousands of fans crowded the stadium for her concert.
“It’s snow weather, so it’s typical Canada,” said Marian Dubrule, who bought last-minute tickets with her friend Derek Hall. “But if Beyoncé can do it, I can do it — it’s just water.”
“It’ll be worth it,” Hall added. “I’m wearing long-johns, so I’ll be fine.”
Others planned months in advance to see Beyoncé perform in Edmonton the first of only two Canadian tour stops. Tickets sold for as much as $275.
Dejayla Bell travelled from Georgia, U.S., to see Beyoncé perform in Edmonton.
Dejayla Bell travelled six hours on three different flights from Georgia, U.S., to see her idol for the first time. The mother of three said she took advantage of the weak Canadian dollar, so stormy weather was a small tax to pay.
“I’m just looking forward to screaming at the top of my lungs, and not after a toddler,” Bell said.
“She’s just so relatable, I love her, she’s the bomb.”
Beyoncé’s next Canadian tour stop is on May 25 at Toronto’s at Rogers Centre, where tickets have already sold out.
