About 100 young cadets from Edmonton and Calgary got a crash course in being a first responder this weekend as they were put through a challenge course to test their skills.
The teenagers had to try their hands at a number of challenges that simulate what firefighters and police officers face everyday: learning how to rescue and injured person, how to perform a search in a wooded area, and even getting a wild ride on a high-altitude zipline.
