Edmonton police are investigating what they describe as a “serious assault” in the west end of the city.
On Wednesday morning, yellow police tape surrounded the Aurora Motel parking lot after police were called to the area around 1 a.m.
A semi-truck parked in front of the motel with a blood splatter on its windshield was still running at 8:30 a.m Wednesday. A pool of blood could be seen outside the motel’s office door.
A man was rushed to hospital in critical condition and police said a person of interest was found in the area and is being interviewed.
Officers are also at a possible, secondary crime scene on 149th Street near 109th Avenue, involving a stolen vehicle.
Police said they are trying to determine if there is any connection between the two incidents.
