So when Chanel resurrected the old-fashioned paint job for its spring 2013 show, we were surprised but chalked it up to a high-fashion whim that would serve as a blip on the style radar.

And now? Hollywood’s young, trendsetting elite, like Selena Gomez, Bella Thorne and Nicki Minaj have been spotted with the white-tipped look (though Nicki edged it up a bit by rendering hers on sharp, stiletto-shaped nails).
