A golfer who was really swinging over the weekend ended up in the rough when he was stopped by police near Boyle, Alta.
In the late hours of Saturday evening, RCMP came across a golf cart driving on the road in a summer village east of Boyle.
The officer initially stopped the golf cart for an infraction under the Traffic Safety Act.
When the officer suspected the driver had been drinking, the man was asked to provide a road-side breath sample. He was over the legal limit.
As a result, the driver was issued a three-day licence suspension and the golf cart was seized for three days.
The man was issued a $310 ticket for driving an unregistered motor vehicle. The woman riding with him was given a $115 ticket for transporting liquor in an open container.
