Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi threw at shot a Jim Prentice, saying people in his city don’t want an election, and he wouldn’t have called one. But if we’ve got to vote, well, we might as well get out and vote.
Quote unquote
Wildrose leader Brian Jean, on Jim Prentice painting parties of the left and right as being extreme:
“Let’s be clear: if low taxes and balanced budgets is extremist, I guess most Albertans are extremist.”
The hustings
- PC: Party leader Jim Prentice is out and about, showing he’s one of the people at a Tim Horton’s in Red Deer about 11:15 a.m. Good chance for a double-double with an extra shot of ‘political platform.’ Then he gets his Ag on at a farm in Stettler before heading to a photo op in Olds.
- NDP: Rachel Notley is making her “first policy announcement” in Lethbridge. Not exactly known as the home turf of progressive politics in Alberta. Could the times could be A-changin in the windy city?
- Wildrose: Brian Jean heads up north to open his own campaign office in Fort McMurray, where Thursday’s forecast is 17 C and he’ll be looking for a warm reception.
