Spring you say? Unpleasant weather causing problems for Alberta motorists

It’s the second day of spring but winter is reluctant to let us out of its icy grasp.

Roads across the province are slick and EMS would like to advise people to drive with caution.

In the south of the province, fog mixed with rain is making for slippery roadways in and around Calgary.

Paramedics have responded to a number of accidents in the area over the past few hours. Fortunately, most of the accidents have been non-injury, although one did result in minor injuries.

Because of reduced visibility due to fog, motorists should drive with caution. Increase the distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you and reduce speed to below the posted limit when required.

In Edmonton, a light but steady snowfall is causing problems for roads in the Edmonton area.

Slick highways west of the city are blamed for a number of collisions.

RCMP are urging people to drive cautiously according to conditions.
