Jonathan Groff doesn’t need to go, erm, looking for a new BFF.
In fact, the Looking actor says he’s still “super close” with Lea Michele. “I just had lunch with her today.”
Groff was a presenter at the 17th Costume Designers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills Tuesday night. Joined by Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson, the actor, 29, honored True Detective’s Jenny Eagan with the award for Outstanding Costume Design in a Contemporary Television Series. Other famous attendees and presenters included Loni Anderson, January Jones, Mindy Kaling, Emmy Rossum and Jon Voight.
When Groff walked the red carpet earlier that evening, he told E! News correspondent Ali Fedotowsky that he “absolutely” adores Michele’s boyfriend, Michael Paetz. “I always give the stamp of approval.”
“She’s got it,” Groff said of his BFF. “She knows exactly what she’s doing.”

Over the weekend, Michele and Paetz celebrated their first Valentine’s Day together. Before the big day, however, the 28-year-old Glee actress told E! News that it would likely be a low-key affair. “We will be working, so it’s going to definitely be a scary movie and pizza, which is always what it’s been,” Michele said at the 67th Annual Directors Guild Of America Awards in L.A. Feb. 7. “So, I’m totally fine with that.”
Michele and Paetz continued to celebrate their love two days later by taking a trip to Big Sur.
The actress was back on set Tuesday. “Today officially begins our last week here at #Glee,” Michele told her 4.54 million Twitter followers. “Heading to the auditorium now to sing my final solo for the series.”
