Edmonton police are on scene near 99th Street and 67th Avenue after receiving calls that a man with a machete was causing a disturbance inside a home.
Police have been working to diffuse the situation for nearly two hours and are now involved in negotiations with the man.
In the meantime, traffic is being re-directed away from 99th Street between 63rd and 68th Avenues.
