New details announced about funeral for Const. David Wynn

New details have been released about the regimental funeral for RCMP Const. David Wynn.

In a posting to his blog, St. Albert Mayor Nolan Crouse said the funeral will be held Monday at Servus Place.

A uniformed procession will leave Holy Family Church at Poirier Avenue and Sir Winston Churchill Avenue at 1 p.m.

The procession will continue along Poirier Avenue and reach Servus Place for the start of the funeral at 2 p.m.

Wynn, 42, died in hospital Wednesday morning, four days after he was shot while responding to a call at the Apex Casino in St. Albert.

Auxiliary Const. Derek Bond, 49, was also shot but his injuries are not life-threatening.

Police say the officers were shot by Shawn Rehn, 34, who was later found dead in a unoccupied rural home.

Rehn had a lengthy criminal record. Both Alberta Justice and the RCMP are reviewing Rehn`s case to see if anything could have been done to keep him off the streets.
