The derailment of a CN freight train early Wednesday morning is affecting the line between Edmonton and Winnipeg.
The company says 22 cars derailed around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday near Jarrow, Alta. All the cars remained upright and there were no leaks or spills.
According to CN, the cars were empty but had gasoline/ethanol residue inside.
An investigator from the TSB is on the way.
CN doesn’t know how long it will take to clear the track. The company says that shipments along that line will be delayed.
