Edmonton city councillor, Amarjeet Sohi, says he seeking the nomination for the federal Liberals in Edmonton-Mill Woods in the next election.
“I know this riding. I know its people. I know this city. I have proven to be a strong and effective voice on City Council and I believe I can be an effective and strong voice as a Liberal MP in Ottawa. Since 2006, it has been a one-way conversation: from Prime Minister Harper to Edmonton. No one has been listening to our needs,” he said in a press release issued this morning.
Sohi has been an Edmonton city councillor since 2007.
“While I believe deeply in the work that Edmonton City Council is doing, I now have the opportunity to take my experience to Ottawa and fiercely advocate for Edmonton and its residents,” he said.
