1. Belgium Jewish Museum- This is one of the recent terror attacks in the last few years, and it was perpetrated a 29 year old French native named Mehdi Nemmouche who had been to Syria for a year and who was radicalized. 3 people died as a result of the attack, and Nemmouche was arrested in France after customs discovered weapons in his luggage.
2. Canada- Canada was one of the Western terrorism targets late in 2014 with two different acts of terrorism just days apart. First a police officer was run down by a vehicle operated by a radical extremist in Quebec, and then a terrorist opened fire on Parliament Hill before he was stopped by the Sargent at Arms, and Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was shot down while standing guard at the National War Monument.
3. Queens, New York Hatchet Attack- One of the more recent terror attacks occurred in Queens, New York when 4 police officers were attacked by Zane Thompson who was wielding a hatchet. The attack occurred on October 23, 2014 and Thompson was killed when officers shot him in order to stop him.
4. Sydney Australia- Australia has become one of the Western terrorism targets and the Lindt Cafe hostage siege in Sydney shows how this country has been targeted by radicals. 2 people died and 17 were held hostage for around 16 hours while negotiations were going on. The gunmen displayed a black Islamic flag in the cafe window during the siege.
