Manslaughter charges laid in Winnipeg woman’s death

A 44-year-old man is charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a woman in Winnipeg.

The charges come nine months after Roseanne Eaglestick was found dead in an apartment on the 200 block of Balmoral Street, in the city’s West Broadway area.

Originally, Shane Darryl Quon, 44, was charged with forcible confinement and sexual assault for his alleged involvement. He was also charged with failure to comply with a probation order.

Members of the police service’s homicide unit continued with the investigation and after consulting with Crown prosecutors, Quon was re-arrested on Monday and further charged with the following:

Manslaughter
Causing death by criminal negligence
Failing to provide the necessities of life

He remains in custody.
