Enbridge plans to move 2,500 of its employees into downtown Edmonton, as the energy giant has announced it will consolidate its staff in Manulife Place and the under-construction Kelly Ramsey tower.
“This move will allow us to consolidate … to the two tallest and newest buildings in Edmonton’s downtown core,” Enbridge CEO Leon Zupan wrote in a release Tuesday.
The company, which currently houses workers in six offices across the city, will become the largest tenant in both buildings.
The 100-year-old Kelly Ramsey building was gutted by a massive arson fire in March 2009. The land was sold off by the courts and the building was demolished to make room for a planned 25-storey office tower.
The building’s original façade was saved and will be used as part of the new development.
