It’s time to take out the warm gloves hats, scarves and shovels — winter has officially arrived in Edmonton.
Several centimetres of snow hit the ground Saturday, resulting in numerous crashes and traffic delays around the city.

Environment Canada issued freezing rain and snowfall warnings in many areas outside of Edmonton, including Drayton Valley, Devon, Rimbey, Pigeon Lake, Spruce Grove, Morinville, Mayerthorpe and Evansburg. Leduc was also issued a freezing rain warning.
Leduc RCMP are urging drivers to use caution and slow down on the portion of Highway 2 just south of Edmonton, which is extremely icy.
