The city of Edmonton is extending its seasonal parking ban into Monday.
Plowing crews have been working through the weekend clearing arterial roads and collector/bus routes.
The extension of the parking ban will not impact the start of neighbourhood blading, the city says. That work will start just after midnight Monday and run until midnight on Friday, Dec. 5.
The city advises residents to check the transportation department website to determine what day crews will be blading in their areas. Although there is no parking ban associated with that work, the city asks that people move vehicles off the streets so crews can clear the snow. Blading work, the city says, is a 24 hour/day operation, which means crews can be in designated areas any time on the date indicated.
The transportation department says work to clear sidewalks and trails the city is responsible for has been delayed due to equipment issues caused by the extremely low temperatures.
