Three people are facing drug and weapons charges following a police chase that ended near Whitecourt, Alta., on Friday.
RCMP say they had received information from Edmonton police about a white Dodge truck they believed had been involved in a recent armed robbery.
Officers located the vehicle near Mayerthorpe but the vehicle took off when police tried to stop it.
Police began a short chase of the vehicle but stopped it not long after.
They were able to set up a perimeter and tips from the public led police to a rural property near the old Blue Ridge Highway.
RCMP found three people there as well as the suspect vehicle, an undisclosed amount of cocaine and heroine, a loaded shotgun and a replica firearm.
A 32-year-old Clairmont, Alta., man faces charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking and six additional charges from Edmonton, including robbery with a firearm, attempted kidnapping and various firearms offences.
A 23-year-old Grande Prairie, Alta., man faces charges of resisting arrest and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He also had six outstanding warrants out for his arrest from Grand Prairie.
A 19-year-old man of Grande Prairie, Alta., faces charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
All three will appear in court in Whitecourt on Nov. 25 on the Whitecourt matters.
The 32-year-old will also appear in court in Edmonton on Oct. 29 for the charges relating to the alleged armed robbery.
