Photos released of truck similar to one sought in fatal collision

Leclair

RCMP are now looking for a truck similar to an Arne’s gravel end-dump, semi-trailer that may have been involved in a hit and run that killed an Edmonton man on Oct. 6.

Cameron Leclair, 29, was travelling south on Highway 2 when police say his Honda Civic collided with a semi-truck that was either moving slowly or stopped about 20 kilometres south of Leduc.

The collision caused extensive damage to the front of Leclair’s car. He died shortly after arriving in hospital.

RCMP say part of an Arne’s mud guard was found at the scene of the collision. On Tuesday, they released photos of a truck similar to the one they are looking for.

They believe the semi-trailer had a red frame and was configured in a tandem or tridem axle configuration.

RCMP think the driver of the truck either chose to flee the scene or didn’t realize they were involved in collision.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the RCMP in Leduc or Crime Stoppers.

Last week, Leclair’s family turned to online classified site Kijiji for the public’s help in finding the vehicle.
