Lady Gaga, Celine Dion and More Close One World Concert With Breathtaking Performance

One word: Chills.

Just when we thought Taylor Swift‘s first-ever performance of “Soon You’ll Get Better” was enough to send us over the edge, the One World: Together at Home concert special closed with a surprise that will pull every last one of your heartstrings.

Lady Gaga, who helped curate the event alongside Global Citizen and the World Health Organization, was joined by Céline Dion, Andrea Bocelli and John Legend for an absolutely breathtaking performance of “The Prayer.”

Emcees for the evening, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, expressed their gratitude before announcing the final, unforgettable number.

“On behalf of myself and the thousands of Jimmy’s hosting tonight, we want to thank Global Citizen for making the show possible,” Colbert said.

When Colbert teased what was coming next, Fallon chimed in, “Tiger King singing ‘I Saw a Tiger?'”

Not quite, Jimmy. But what came next was so, so much better.

Dwayne Johnson Reveals That Quarantine Has Had a ''Very Positive Effect'' on His Marriage

Dwayne Johnson is letting us in on his secret to a happy and healthy marriage with Lauren Hashian—even when the circumstances can be stressful and take a toll on your mental health.

On Instagram, the 47-year-old shared that fans have been asking about “relationships and marriage and how I feel the quarantine has impacted my own marriage.”

He continued, “A wife had me asked how has the quarantine impacted by marriage in a positive way and from the husband, he said, ‘Rock, I got married around the same time you did last August, how do I keep this sh-t going, I need help.'”

“Well, Dr. Johnson is here to help you, since I have a degree in experience certainly not my doctorate,” Johnson said in the video. “So here’s the thing I can share with you, I have found that the quarantine has had a very positive effect on my relationship and my marriage, certaintly with my relationship with my daughters […] but it’s also had a really positive effect on my relationship with my wife.”

He continued, “We get snippy with each other, we argue… I gotta be honest with you, you know when this thing first started, I was really wobbly at times. I was trying to get my sh-t together and try to understand it because I was trying to think ten steps ahead, what does the future look like? What does the new normal look like when I go back… to work, school, my household. We’re all thinking about this, it’s a lot of pressure.”

Johnson went on to say that he found himself “apologizing” to his wife “every other day.”

“This is not my best week, this is not my best day, so we’d get snippy with each other but I have also seen that through our snappiness, we also really try to make sure that we try to stay aware as husband and wife, we try to understand that this is an incredibly amount of pressure and it’s the fear of the unknown… how that can impact our relationship and mental wellness.”

The Jumanji actor also posted a lengthy caption that further detailed the points he was trying to make in his video. “@laurenhashianofficial and I are doing our best during these stressful times. We realized kinda quickly how critical it was for us to be ultra considerate, caring and empathetic of one another,” he wrote. “Be even better listeners. Even better communicators. Recognize that during these times, we’re not operating at full brain & emotional EQ capacity as we usually are.”

He added, “You’re gonna get snippy, short tempered and you guys may erupt at each other over some silly shit like we did. When that happens, grab your partner by the shoulders, like I grabbed Lauren. Look them directly in the eyes and say with full conviction, “baby, you’re not wrong…. you’re just not used to being right” and then count the seconds it takes for you both to belly laugh your assess off.”

“Stay healthy, my friends,” he wrote before signing off as “Dr. Rock.”

Grey's Anatomy's Ellen Pompeo Calls Out ''Out of Touch'' TV Doctors Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

Dr. Meredith Grey has spoken.

On Saturday morning, Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo took to Twitter to slam “out of touch” television doctors spreading controversial opinions in regards to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“The old white guy TV docs who say stupid selfish sh-t should yes… walk that sh-t right back… to your lazy boys and sit your st-pid asses down in your living rooms on your golf courses where you live,” Pompeo wrote on Twitter. “Tired out of touch old fools don’t get me started today.”

The “out of touch” TV doctors that the actress was referring to were Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil and Dr. Drew Pinsky. The trio made headlines in recent days for going on air to make absurd claims and comments regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, despite not being experts on infectious diseases.

Pompeo continued, “Also to those out of touch tv docs which I’m sure they would call me lol…you took an oath so so many years ago to do no harm… making careless statements in this environment when so many healthcare workers are suffering physically and emotionally….is defying that oath.”

During an interview on Fox News on Tuesday, Dr. Oz said that the idea of reopening schools despite the ongoing coronavirus outbreak sounded like an “appetizing opportunity” because the opening of schools “may only cost 2 to 3 percent in terms of total mortality.”

When speaking to Fox News host Sean Hannity, Dr. Oz also said, “We need our mojo back. Let’s start with things that are really critical to the nation where we think we might be able to open without getting into a lot of trouble. I tell you, schools are a very appetizing opportunity.”

On Thursday, after facing backlash for his comments, he posted a video on Twitter addressing the criticism.

On Twitter, Pompeo continued: “And I love friendly reminders so here’s one… so many healthcare professionals already before a pandemic… experience racism pay inequities and discrimination in however many forms that comes which are many… they still do their jobs with pride and selflessness…”

“So let’s think about all of our first responders and healthcare workers home health aids nursing home staff…always … it’s a much better place to put our focus,” the actress wrote.

Aside from Dr. Oz’s comments, Dr. Phil—who holds a doctorate in clinical psychology but is not licensed to practice—also appeared on Fox News with Laura Ingraham and appeared to criticized the nationwide shutdown in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

“The economy is crashing around us and they’re doing that because people are dying because of coronavirus,” Dr. Phil said, per CNN. “I get that, but look, the fact of the matter is we have people dying—45,000 people a year die from automobile accidents, 480,000 from cigarettes, 360,000 from swimming pools—but we don’t shut the country for that. But yet, we’re doing it for this and the fallout is going to last for years because people’s loves are being destroyed.”

In a video on Friday, the TV doctor also took to social media to acknowledge his comments and apologize.

The Greys Anatomy star also replied to a tweet that shared pictures of the trio, which read, “Hi, Drew, Oz, and Phil. Until you start behaving like real doctors, Imma call you by your first names.”

She retweeted the original tweet and wrote, “I love this because …They have been so busy in their dressing rooms getting their faces powdered and worrying about their ratings …they have no idea what doctors and healthcare professionals on the front lines actually do or they just don’t care.”

This isn’t the first time Pompeo has held no punches when it comes to speaking her mind on what she believes is right and just. Earlier this year, after the death of the late Kobe Bryant—the actress also took to social media to criticize the media coverage of the tragic helicopter crash that not only killed the basketball player but also his young daughter Gianna Bryant and seven other victims.

Concluding her thoughts on Twitter, Pompeo shared a message for people staying home during the coronavirus outbreak. “Staying home is for very good reasons…one of them is to stop the spread to nurses doctors and anyone who works in a hospital housekeeping …security .. maintenance…. …to keep their risk of contracting lower and The hospitals can only handle so much intake,” she wrote on Twitter.

Ben Platt Covers The Beatles For Emotional One World: Together At Home Performance

Ben Platt is giving the gift of song during these difficult times.

On Saturday, The Politician star treated One World: Together At Home viewers to a moving cover of The Beatles‘ hit song “I Want To Hold Your Hand.” Before diving into the classic tune, he explained that the song has taken on a new meaning to him since practicing social distancing.

“I’m so grateful to be here among all of these fantastic artists to share some music when we all need it,” he said into the camera. “I’m gonna sing two songs for you: The first is a cover of a song that I hope that many of you will know. It’s something that we can all relate to right now, especially those of us like me whose love language is physical affection. I’m missing that right now.”

Sitting behind his piano from his home, the Dear Evan Hansen star showed off his impressive pipes as he delivered an emotional stripped-down rendition of the British band’s hit track.

In the wake of the pandemic, several timeless songs have become empowering anthems to keep sprits high. Back in March, Gal Gadotrecruited her celeb pals to sing an uplifting rendition of John Lennon‘s “Imagine” and reminded everyone that we’re all connected.

“We’re all in this together, we will get through it together,” Gadot captioned the star-studded video. “Let’s imagine together. Sing with us. All love to you, from me and my dear friends. #WeAreOne.”

Platt was just one of the many performers that came together during the historic benefit concert, which raised over $35 million for coronavirus rapid relief efforts across the world.

Among the star-studded performers was Andra Day, who delivered a moving rendition of her song “Rise Up,” Niall Horan, who treated fans to an acoustic performance of his new song “Black and White,” Maren Morris, who teamed up with Hozier for her first performance after giving birth to her son, and The Killers, who brought the nostalgia with their hit song “Mr. Brightside.”

Nick Cordero's Wife Says His Leg Will Need to Be Amputated as He Battles COVID-19

Nick Cordero‘s wife is giving people an update on the Broadway star.

On Saturday morning, Amanda Kloots took to Instagram Stories to share the heartbreaking news that her husband needs to get his right leg amputated. This health update comes two days after she explained that may never walk again.

“We are on day 18 of Nick being sedated in the ICU. It is April 18. We got some difficult news yesterday,” she began her Instagram Stories on Saturday morning. “Basically, we had issues with his right leg with clotting and getting blood down to his toes. And it just isn’t happening with surgery and everything.”

“So, they had him on blood thinners for the clotting and, unfortunately, the blood thinners were causing other issues: blood pressure and some internal bleeding in his intestines,” she continued. “So we took him off the blood thinners, but that again was going to cause some clotting in the right leg. So the right leg will be amputated today.”

Moreover, she detailed how hard this experience has been. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, she’s been unable to physically be with her husband during this time.

“A plead… I know this isn’t possible but today is miracle day so why not ask,” a caption read on her Stories. “I just wish I could see him. Hold his hand. Touch his face. I do believe this would help him WAKE UP!”

On Thursday night, Amanda revealed that Nick was taken off the ECMO machine and his recent surgery “went well.” Sadly, the Broadway star is still battling his Coronavirus diagnosis, which he tested positive for earlier this month.

“The doctor said for Nick’s heart and lungs right now, they’re in the best condition that they could be,” Amanda shared on Thursday. “He’s still on medication to help his heart pump. He’s still on the ventilator, obviously, to breathe, but he said this needed to happen for anything else to happen so the fact that he’s off is great.”

She added, “The next hours coming up are very important because obviously the heart and lungs are running on their own now for the first time in a couple of days.”

At the time, she mentioned his leg was posing an issue to his health.

“There has been some blood flow issues coming down to his foot,” she explained. “The doctor went in there, fixed as much as they possibly could to get blood flow down to his toes again. We don’t know what the damage will be. We don’t know if he’ll be able to walk again. We don’t know if he can walk again, what that will look like.”

She did point out that her husband’s blood flow was going down to his feet. Before signing off, she thanked everyone for their support and love during this time.

“I think there will definitely be a lot of rehab and definitely a lot of physio in order for that leg to get working again. But the good news is that blood is finally running down to his toes,” she said. “It has been a very emotional day, a very tiring day. I so appreciate everyone who reaches out to me, I really do.”
