Empire's Sort-Of Series Finale Ends on a Happy Note for the Lyons

Empire has come to an end. Sort of. Maybe. But also maybe not.

The Fox drama was in the middle of shooting its second to last episode ever when production had to shut down due to the pandemic, meaning tonight’s episode currently serves as the series finale, but it might not serve as the series finale forever, depending on what happens when production can resume.

As showrunner Brett Mahoney told TVLine, there’s a lot to consider, including whether the sets and the cast are still available.

So for now, we’ve got tonight’s episode, a sort of mishmash of what was supposed to be the second to last and third to last episode that featured two deaths, a breakup, a music festival, and a movie premiere, as well as a ton of Lyon family flashbacks as Cookie and Lucious found their way back to each other, after getting their company back.

The breakup belonged to Lucious and Yana, who were already pretending their relationship was nothing more than professional for her father’s benefit, but she soon realized that Lucious still loved Cookie, and then got on stage at Cookie’s music festival to sing a song that Lucious wrote about Cookie.

Yana and Lucious then celebrated with a hug, which caused Yana’s father to lose his mind and shoot them, killing Yana in the process.

Lucious and Yana’s dad then had a scuffle, and Lucious killed Damon and only survived himself with help from his prosthetic leg, though Cookie certainly thought he was dead for a second.

The whole family (minus an unmentioned Jamal) then enjoyed the premiere of the movie all about Lucious and Empire, celebrated with one last performance by Hakeem. So we didn’t get any sort of closure on the cliffhanger flashforwards from earlier in the season where Cookie’s car blew up, but hopefully that’s coming if Empire ever gets a real series finale. Let’s hope that day comes!

Empire aired on Fox.

Ansel Elgort's Viral Nude Photo Helps Raise Thousands for Coronavirus Relief Efforts

Ansel Elgortis doing his part to help with coronavirus relief, one nude at a time.

When it comes to the coronavirus, every one is doing their part to prevent the spread of the sickness. Whether it be by paying for the elderly’s groceries, donating money or delivering much-needed meals to people in need. In Ansel’s case, he’s decided that one of the best ways for him to contribute to the cause is to share a nude photo, which he later deleted.

That’s right. The Fault in Our Stars actor posted to Instagram a photo of himself completely naked in the shower as a way to motivate his followers to donate money. In a rather smart move, he tricked his fans into heading over to the GoFundMe for Jeffrey Wright‘s Brooklyn For Life! fundraiser by captioning the photo: “OnlyFans LINK IN BIO.”

OnlyFans describes itself as a subscription-based service that helps creators with providing exclusive content, including risqué photos, to their fans.

While his followers didn’t exactly find what they were looking for, many people chose to donate anyways. Thousands of dollars were donated in the hours proceeding Ansel’s steamy post.

He went on his Instagram Story later in the day to thank his fans and sadly announce that he had to remove the nude. “I don’t know how much of this is from the post but it seems a lot of people have been giving in the last few hours. Thanks a lot, looks like it was worth it,” he shared. “Unfortunately, Instagram told me I gotta take my post down because it’s nudity, so I’m going to take it down or maybe I’ll repost the version that cuts a little higher, how about that?”

He added, “Alright, sorry about that Instagram. Sorry if I offended anybody but we did a good thing. And my dad took the picture by the way. He was mad, he said that I needed to give him credit.”

At the time of publication, Wright’s campaign raised over $200,000 for providing meals for medical workers who are on the frontlines fighting against the coronavirus.

Secret Life of the American Teenager: Where the Stars Are Now

If you’re wondering what the cast of The Secret Life of the American Teenager is up to now, you’ve come to the right place.

You might know her from Big Little Lies or The Fault In Our Stars depending on what you’re into, but Shailene Woodley first starred in the ABC Family show.

From the creators of 7th Heaven, we also got this 2008 drama about the ways teen pregnancy affected the lives of close-knit friends and family. In a recent interview with Bustle, Woodley opened up about her time on the series. “I can only speak [about my characters’ sex lives] through my experience with sex,” Woodley shared. “When I signed onto Secret Life, I read [three] episodes and I signed a contract for six years. [Those episodes] all hit home. I had friends in high school who were pregnant. It felt like everything that I wanted to be sending into the world.”

She also added that at time she found herself struggling to agree with the show’s message.

“There were a lot of things that were written into the scripts that not just me, but a lot of the cast, disagreed with,” she continued. “There were belief systems that were pushed that were different than my own. Yet legally I was stuck there. To this day it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. So being on Secret Life propelled me to be more vocal about my own belief systems.”

The show also starred Francia Raisa, Daren Kagasoff, Megan Park, Molly Ringwald and Greg Finley—just to name a few.

It’s now almost been seven years since Woodley starred on The Secret Life of the American Teenager, wondering where the rest of the cast is now?

Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady Are Reuniting and We're Suddenly Pumped for Football

Adam Glanzman for Getty Images

Let’s go football bromances!

If you thought Rob Gronkowski was done putting on helmets and jerseys, you were clearly mistaken.

According to the NFL, the New England Patriots have agreed to trade Gronk to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a fourth-round draft pick.

So what does this mean for those who may not watch ESPN every night? Don’t worry, we’re not judging. It means Gronk and Tom Brady are going to be reunited and playing on the same football team again for the 2020-2021 season.

While both players haven’t commented on the news, this dynamic duo has captured the attention of both football and pop culture fans alike with their friendship and chemistry on and off the field. In fact, the two recently complimented each other about their manhood. We told you these aren’t your average teammates.

Earlier this week, Gronk appeared on Watch What Happens Live where Andy Cohen asked him about the rumors that he could be coming out of retirement.

At the same, the athlete stayed mum.

“Andy, you want to know what’s great man? The day I retired, within 24 hours, there were already rumors that I was coming out of retirement. I’m feeling good right now. I’m happy where I’m at and you just never know,” he shared. “I’m not totally done. I like to stay in shape.”

Gronk continued, “I’m a weapon. I feel like I can stretch the field pretty good and help open up the underneath.”

But enough sports talk. It’s safe to say lots of fans can’t get over the bond Gronk shares with Tom. And the possibility of seeing it later this season is likely some much needed good news for sports fans.

“To tell you the truth, you’re not just going to walk in with another guy and have chemistry like that. I don’t care who it is, what kind of player, you’ve got to build chemistry. We’ve been going on year—what is this, year nine now? So to build all that chemistry up, you just want to keep it going, keep it flowing,” Gronk previously shared with reporters. “You know how to expect you can get the best out of each other so it’s good to have that connection, it’s good to have that chemistry and just got to keep on improving every single time we can.”

Tom later told WEEI, “Well, I think that speaks to our relationship and I feel as strongly about him as he does about me. I love the guy. He has had a big impact on my career personally, professionally. Like I said, I am very lucky to play with him.”
