The neighbourhood where Constable Daniel Woodall’s family lives is being adorned with blue ribbons.
A group of volunteers spent last night tying strands of blue tape to trees and light poles in Terwillegar.
“It’s just the right thing to do,” said Denise Dumont who volunteered to help paint the area blue.
“It’s a sad thing and we just want these people to know how much we appreciate what they do on a daily basis.”
The ribbons are the latest in the growing effort to support Woodall’s family and the police force in Edmonton.
Police stations around the city, as well as headquarters downtown have been graced with blue ribbons and can be seen tucked into trees and wrapped around poles in other parts of the city.
Edmontonians have also showed their support by signing condolence books, at City Hall and at EPS headquarters downtown.
