Councilor Tyran Ault was a big winner as a game show contestant on the Price is Right, trading in is spot in the chamber for a place on Contestant’s Row. As the Ward 1 councilor for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Ault usually has little excitement in the day to day activities but that changed while he was sitting on Contestant’s Row. Councilor Ault was picked as a contestant, going on to win a new Ford Mustang and a trip to the gorgeous state of Hawaii during the Showcase Showdown. When asked about the experience Ault responded “It’s a pretty surreal experience overall. I grew up watching The Price is Right. I remember as a little five-year-old watching at my grandma’s house, and all through the years. To tick one off the bucket list and not only go attend a taping but get on and win the showcase and also get to give Fort McMurray a little shoutout … was a pretty great feeling.”

Councilor Tyran Ault reported having a great experience as a game show contestant. Te councilor told the media “The studio is actually much smaller than you think on TV. You’re crammed in there with about 300 people. We were excited just to be seen on TV yelling at the contestants, getting called down was that extra icing on the cake, really. This is going to sound really dorky, but I did a lot of studying beforehand in terms of watching Price is Right and knowing some of the prizes. I wasn’t going to pass up this opportunity, because you really only get one crack at being onstage.”
