A Camrose woman whose arrest for speeding was caught on a dashcam video, has been found guilty of assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest and obstruction.
Simona Tibu, 40, was convicted in a Camrose courtroom Wednesday morning.
Tibu, who was practicing as a dentist in Camrose at the time of her arrest, was pulled over by a peace officer in August 2013 while driving from Camrose to Edmonton.
The officer’s dashcam video, which has no sound, showed the officer speaking to Tibu through the driver’s side window.

The encounter quickly escalates when the officer pulls a cellphone from Tibu’s hand.
The two struggle until Tibu appears to pull away from the officer, who grabs her wrists and swings her out toward the highway before twice slamming her against the car.
During testimony, the officer compared Tibu to a feral cat, saying she tried to bite him and attempted to grab his genitals.
Tibu testified she was the true victim in the incident, saying she had a panic attack during the arrest and thought her life was in danger.
But today a judge found Tibu at fault.
Sentencing is adjourned until June 17.
