It’s been fifteen years since Tom Hanks lost his beloved Wilson on Cast Away, but he just got his long-awaited reunion.
For those who don’t remember, in Cast Away Hanks played a delivery service executive who was the sole survivor of a plane crash and was rescued after years of living on a deserted island. To keep him company, he turned a volleyball from one of the plane’s washed-up packages into Wilson, a fan favorite cast member in the movie. Hanks’ character and Wilson were tragically separated during a severe storm, providing perhaps the flick’s saddest scene.

But, last night, Hanks and Wilson were brought together again. The acclaimed actor was in the stands at the New York Rangers game when he popped up on the jumbotron. While he was busy waving to fans, someone tossed him a replica of the infamous Wilson—much to his surprise. Hanks took a moment to reacquaint himself with his long lost friend, and then the two started a “Let’s Go Rangers” chant.
There’s no word on what happened to Wilson after the end of the clip, but we’re choosing to think that the pair will live happily ever after together.
