Hayat Boumeddiene, the terror suspect’s widow who may have been involved in the grocery store siege that resulted in Amedy Coulibaly being killed by police, is wanted for questioning. Police believe that Boumeddiene may have knowledge that can help bring down a terror network in France. Citizens are warned that Hayat should be considered dangerous and that she may be armed, and police are asking everyone to look for her and report any sightings immediately. Amedy Coulibaly and Hayat Boumeddiene were married in July of 2009 by an Islamic ceremony that was religious in nature. The laws of France do not recognize this type of union. Four hostages were killed in the supermarket siege in Paris before police ended it by killing Amedy.

French officials have said that Hayat Boumeddiene, the terror suspect’s widow who is wanted for questioning, does not have a criminal record. Hayat has been questioned before by police about terrorist activities, and she was on the government’s radar but not as a high threat. Officials do know that Hayat Boumeddiene has close ties to Islamic radicals that are monitored by the French internal security services, and there has been a photo of her published that shows her holding a crossbow and wearing an Islamic veil. This picture was taken after her religious ceremony with Amedy. Paris prosecutor Francois Molins stated Friday that the discovery of around 500 phone calls between Hayat Boumeddiene and a female who was a known companion to the Kouchi brothers made the link between the two extremists clearer.
