Death of man found in burned Jeep called a homicide

The death of a man found in a burned Jeep in Sherwood Park early Tuesday morning has been deemed a homicide.

The man was found around 12:45 a.m. in an industrial area near 34 Street between 92 Avenue and 84th Avenue.

Although an autopsy has been performed, the medical examiner hasn’t yet confirmed the victim’s identity.

A second person in the Jeep was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

The body was found the same day police discovered all but one of the victims of Edmonton’s mass murder.

However, police have confirmed that the Sherwood Park death is not connected to that case.
