Google has introduced a new app aimed at making it easier for its Gmail users to find and manage information while on their various mobile devices.
The service, known as Inbox, sorts information into different bundles so they can more easily be grouped, ignored, or recalled as the user sees fit. The app scans email to make priority things like travel details, flight information, to-do lists pictures and event details more readily available, instead of buried under less important information.
As described, the app sounds very reminiscent to the “priority inbox” function already in place on a regular Gmail account. But Google says Inbox will work across multiple mobile devices, including Android and iPhones, which run on iOS.
App invites are going out today. Anyone receiving one is welcome to try out the service and then invite a friend.
