A demonstration calling for Perry Trimper’s resignation as MHA is being held outside his constituency office in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Monday afternoon, less than a week after he resigned from cabinet.
A small group was beginning to form in the office’s parking lot and a sign calling for his resignation was posted to its door at about noon AT Monday.

Trimper’s resignation came just a day after an inadvertent recording of a conversation between him and an unidentified woman was released by the Innu Nation. In the recording, Trimper said the Innu Nation plays “the race card.”
Trimper apologized Thursday for the comments, which were recorded Wednesday evening after a conversation with Innu Nation executive assistant Dominic Rich, and announced his resignation as the province’s municipal affairs and environment minister on Friday.
Innu Nation representatives planned to meet with Premier Dwight Ball early Monday afternoon in the wake of Trimper’s resignation from cabinet, which came just one week after he had been appointed to the role.
