Man airlifted to hospital after house fire in Red Deer


A man was seriously injured in a house fire in Red Deer on Sunday.

Red Deer RCMP were called to a home at 45 Nagel Avenue at 10:38 a.m.

A 31-year-old man, home alone, was later airlifted to a hospital in Calgary due to the extent of his injuries, Sgt. Gary Kroeker told CBC News. 

Kroeker said the cause of the blaze is still unknown.

“It is very preliminary at this point. We won’t know much until we get the fire department’s report back,” he said.

RCMP and the Red Deer fire department are investigating.
