RCMP are responding to the Suncor oilsands site near Fort McMurray following an incident resulting in injuries to one person.
RCMP were called at 9:40 a.m. Friday to assist emergency services at the site.
The Alberta Energy Regulator said it is aware of the incident at the Suncor Millennium mine and that Alberta Occupational Health and Safety is leading the response.
Police have not released any further information about what happened or what injuries were involved.
