Edmonton police are investigating after a seven-year-old girl was struck by a truck in southeast Edmonton Friday night.
The Edmonton Police Service responded to a call around 9 p.m. that a truck had hit a pedestrian near 35th St. and 43th Ave. in the Kiniski Gardens neighbourhood.
Upon arrival officers found a child lying on the road in medical distress.
Police say it was reported that the girl was running across the street when she was hit by the truck.
Paramedics treated and transported the girl to hospital with what appeared to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The EPS major collision investigation unit has taken over the investigation.
