Groundbreaking Launches Second Phase Of Important Infrastructure Work In La Conception
Federal-provincial investment of more than 2.1 million dollars

Member of Parliament for Laurentides–Labelle, David Graham, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, and Christine St-Pierre, Quebec Minister of International Relations and la Francophonie, and Minister responsible for the Laurentides region, on behalf of Martin Coiteux, Quebec Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy, marked the start of the second phase of construction on a project to improve drinking and waste water infrastructure in La Conception by announcing government contributions totaling $2,147,208.
This phase of the project involves replacing the drinking water line under des Tulipes Street, expanding the sewer system to collect wastewater and storm water, and rehabilitating the drinking water lines along Iris Street and the Main Street bridge loop. In addition to the work completed in phase one, this project will provide citizens of La Conception with safer, more reliable drinking water and sewer systems for generations to come.
This project is benefiting from federal-provincial funding totaling $2,147,208:
- $1,412,850 (divided equally) is being provided through the Communities Component of the Canada-Quebec Building Canada Fund;
- $734,358 is being provided through the federal Gas Tax Fund and the Government of Quebec’s contribution:
- federal share: $519,925;
- provincial share: $214,433.
