We know there’s probably some simple scientific explanation that involves perspective or eye-trickery or something to make us understand what’s happening in this video, but for now we’re just going to go ahead and say: DARK MAGIC IS REAL.

What is happening here with this seemingly innocent toy? Journalist Marc Blank-Settle posted the above video of his toddler’s wooden train tracks and the footage has made Twitter lose its damn mind.

“My toddler’s train track is freaking me out right now,” he wrote. “What is going on here?!” The two tracks seem to line up when on top of each other, but take them apart and they are definitely different sizes. How?!

Just watch it and see the craziness for yourself. Make sure your volume is on, because the eerie music really makes it.

If you are also certain that the devil is at work in this Twitter video, you are not alone. A lot of people definitely felt unclean and uncomfortable after watching that demonstration. We can’t wrap our minds around it, so obviously it’s witchcraft.

But don’t worry; the Internet has answers. As the video went viral, those who weren’t shouting “devil!” on Twitter jumped in to explain what’s happening in that confusing situation:

@MarcSettle @4everadevil If you look at the starting positions, the upper-left corner of the bottom track is even with lower-left of top.

@MarcSettle outside arc longer than inside arc. Freaky though

Basically, this:

Apparently this has a name – the “Jastrow illusion” https://t.co/3IAu835wiR HT @Shadeewolf

So you have two choices here. You can choose to believe the reasonable and probably correct explanation as to why those train tracks match up and then don’t match up. Or, you can choose to believe that dark magic exists in the world. How else would you explain that fact that NCIS is still on the air?! That’s not a dig at the show, it’s just an astounding fact!

No optical illusion happening here; Beyoncé is just beautiful:
