Bryan Lutes No Longer President of the Wood Buffalo Housing & Development Corporation
The Wood Buffalo Housing & Development Corporation no longer has Bryan Lutes as the president of the organization. According to a statement released by newly elected board chair of the organization Maggie Farrington “Under Bryan’s tenure, WBHDC entered into important partnerships with public sector employers in Wood Buffalo that helped them to recruit and retain essential personnel – people like teachers, nurses, police officers and municipal employees. We wish him the very best as he moves into the next phase of his career.” The mandate for the WBHDC is intended to ensure that senior citizens and residents who have low to moderate incomes have housing opportunities. There is only one shareholder for the organization and that is the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
Bryan Lutes also released a statement about leaving his position at the Wood Buffalo Housing & Development Corporation. “I’m very pleased with what WBHDC has accomplished since I joined the team. We’ve been recognized across the nation as one of Canada’s most effective affordable housing agencies, and we’ve done that in the country’s most challenging real estate market.” The board of directors for the WBHDC will hold a search to find a suitable replacement for Lutes as president and CEO of the organization, and in the meantime the interim president position will be filled by Greg Elsasser who is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the organization. No further details about the reasons behind the departure of Lutes have been released and both parties have disclosed little about why these changes are taking place.
