Boomtown Casino Shooting Investigated by Wood Buffalo RCMP

A recent shooting at the Boomtown Casino is under investigation by the Wood Buffalo RCMP, and police are hoping that the public can help them solve this crime and bring those responsible to justice. A man was found with gunshot injuries outside of the casino when police responded to a report of gunshots in the area. The 24 year old male victim was treated by officers on the scene until paramedics arrived, and then the victim was transported to Northern Lights Regional Health Centre for further emergency medical treatment. The condition of the 24 year old who was shot has not been released. Witnesses who were in the area reported seeing a suspect fleeing the area headed down Hardin Street in the direction of Franklin Avenue.

The Boomtown Casino shooting is being investigated by the Wood Buffalo RCMP General Investigation Section and Serious Crime Unit. A description of the suspect has not been released by police, and officers were not able to immediately confirm whether the victim or the suspect involved in the case ever entered the casino. The RCMP has stated that the investigators do not suspect that this incident was random, and they do not believe that the suspect poses a threat to the general public. Anyone who has any information about this crime or the suspect involved should contact the RCMP and provide this information to investigators. There has been an increase in the shootings and other violent crimes in Wood Buffalo in recent years and the community needs to come together and let the criminals know that these acts will not be tolerated or overlooked.
