A Fort McMurray an is facing criminal charges after a police chase that caused the man to veer into oncoming traffic while driving on Highway 63, and according to the Wood Buffalo RCMP and the Alberta Sheriff this was the third time that the man was involved in a police chase in a month. Now the driver is facing almost 30 different criminal and driving charges. According to the police the man was driving a motorcycle on September 6, and photo radar tracked the vehicle at more than 100 kmh in a posted 50 kmh zone. The man was performing wheelies on the motorcycle, and this caused police to try and pull him over. When police attempted to pull the motorcycle over the driver veered into oncoming traffic on Highway 63, reaching speeds of 200 kmh and causing the officers to lose the man.

A few days later officers spotted the same driver on the same motorcycle on Highway 63, but attempts to stop the man were unsuccessful as the driver ran a red light at an intersection with heavy traffic, and then the driver sped off towards Timberlea at speeds which exceeded 225 kmh. On September 10 police once again spotted the motorcycle and driver, and another police chase ensued. This time the driver was going more than 230 mph, and he once again eluded the police. Integrated Traffic Uni investigators started searching work sites around fort McMurray trying to locate the motorcycle, and the vehicle was found at a local work site. The 21 year old Fort McMuray an who owned the motorcycle was arrested on criminal charges and driving offenses, and he did not have a valid license to operate a motorcycle.
