Indianapolis has agreed to a contract with free agent running back Frank Gore.
Terms of the deal were not immediately available.
The news comes two days after it appeared Gore would sign with Philadelphia. The 31-year-old running back has eight 1,000-yard seasons and five Pro Bowl selections. He should help the Colts move on from the failed two-year experiment with Trent Richardson.
So far, Indy has focused primarily on fixing the offence in free agency. It had already announced deals with former Eagles offensive lineman Todd Herremans and backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. On Tuesday morning, the Colts announced they also were re-signing versatile backup offensive lineman Joe Reitz. Indy also has agreed to terms on a two-year deal with cornerback Darius Butler.
