One Paris Terror Suspect in Police Custody After Charlie Hebdo Massacre
One of the people suspected of being a Paris terror suspect is in police custody after surrendering when police started looking for those responsible for the Charlie Hebdo massacre Wednesday, And French law enforcement are still looking for the other 2 gunmen who are also brothers. There is an enormous manhunt underway in France, especially in Paris, while police search for the remaining suspects and the entire world is speaking out and mourning those killed in the attack. 18 year old Hamyd Mourad surrendered to the police once he was identified as one of the terrorists. The other two gunmen are believed to be brothers who were born and raised in Paris, leading to the belief that the Charlie Hebdo massacre was carried out by homegrown extremists.
With one Paris terror suspect in police custody the search for 34 year old Said Kouachi and 32 year old Cherif Kouachi continues. The brothers have ties to extremists and it is believed that the Charlie Hebdo massacre was revenge for the satirical cartoons featuring the prophet Mohammad that the newspaper has run. Muslims have been upset in the past by these cartoons and there have been previous threats made against the newspaper and staff. The gunmen were able to enter the newspaper offices by threatening a young staff member and her daughter returning to the office so that the woman would key in the entry code. With everyone looking for the Kouachi brothers it is doubtful that they will be on the run for long, and eventually they will have to answer for the crimes that they committed.
