Luka Magnotta, guilty verdict

The crown has asked the jury in the Luka Magnotta case to render a guilty verdict against the defendant on all charges. Magnotta is on trial for the murder of Jun Lin, and there are a number of charges against the defendant. Magnotta has been charged with first degree murder, disposing of evidence of his crimes, and fleeing to Germany to hide from law enforcement in Canada. The prosecutor for the crown, Louis Bouthillier, told the jury that Magnotta was extremely organized, and stated “On all five counts…I will ask you to find him guilty as charged.” The prosecutor went over the actions of Luka Magnotta on the day of the murder, and reminded them that Magnotta has admitted to killing Lin.

After the murder the defendant Luka Magnotta took 16 different trips to garbage bins in order to dispose of evidence, and the organization shows that the former porn actor was not crazy and that he realized what he did was wrong. There is no doubt that Luka Magnotta committed the murder, and he even went so far as to mail parts of his victim’s body at the local post office. Whether his activities are enough to cause the jury to render a guilty verdict against Magnotta still remains to be seen. Bouthiller explained to the jury “During those 48-odd hours, Mr. Magnotta is a very, very busy man. Very purposeful in doing things and there doesn’t seem to be any indication of him not being in contact with the outside world at this point.”
